        "content": "<p>Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia is encouraging\nindependent power producers (IPPs), or private companies, to develop 100\ngigawatt peak (GWp) solar power plant projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe report that the first thing is we are encouraging IPPs. If the\nprice is competitive, we will give it to IPPs,\u201d Bahlil said at the\nLaunching and Groundbreaking of the 100 GWp Solar Power Programme held\nin Gilimanuk, Bali, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Bahlil said that if the electricity price generated by the solar\nplants is not competitive and no IPPs are interested in developing the\nprojects, the government will take over and provide financing through\nDanantara.<\/p>\n<p>Financing through Danantara, he continued, will be carried out in\naccordance with President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s directives for efficiency,\neffectiveness and affordability.<\/p>\n<p>The 14 projects are divided into several categories, including six\nprojects ready for tender, comprising the Jatiluhur Floating Solar Plant\nwith a capacity of 1,688 MWp, located at Jatiluhur Reservoir in\nPurwakarta, West Java.<\/p>\n<p>Next, the Cirata Floating Solar Plant with a capacity of 1,250 MWp\n(Cirata Reservoir, Purwakarta, West Java); the Jatigede Floating Solar\nPlant with a capacity of 636 MWp (Jatigede Reservoir, Sumedang, West\nJava); the Madura Cluster Solar Plant with Battery Energy Storage System\n(BESS) with a capacity of 605 MWp (Sumenep, East Java) to support the\nFat Burning Madura programme, or the elimination of fuel oil in\nMadura.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Bali Solar Plant with a capacity of 300 MWp\n(Gilimanuk, Jembrana, Bali) to eliminate fuel oil use in Bali; and the\nPurwakarta Land Bank Solar Plant with a capacity of 69 MWp (Purwakarta,\nWest Java).<\/p>",
