The Minister of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP), Maruarante\nSirait, has revealed details regarding his health condition amidst his\nbusy schedule pursuing the government\u2019s target for the distribution of\nsubsidised housing. He stated that his condition has improved following\na medical procedure.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am healthier now because a few percent was removed, and it is no\nlonger blocking. So, I am healthier. To ensure continued health, we ask\nfor your prayers,\u201d he said at the BP Tapera office on Monday\n(21\/09\/2026).<\/p>\n
Maruarar noted that the medical procedure took place over the weekend\nand did not significantly disrupt his ministerial duties. He even\nmentioned that he had resumed his work at the start of the week.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, the procedure was done\nin the afternoon. By Sunday morning, I was allowed to go home. By\nMonday, I was back at work,\u201d said Ara.<\/p>\n
These remarks were made during a performance evaluation and FLPP\nstrategy meeting at the BP Tapera office.<\/p>\n
\u201cPraise God, we have a good doctor, named Prof Heri. He is\nextraordinary; he spends two weeks in Jakarta and three weeks in the\nNetherlands. Since it is the Netherlands, it is good. So, we trust our\ndoctor is also good,\u201d Ara added.<\/p>\n
Amidst the government\u2019s agenda to realise the FLPP (Housing Financing\nLiquidity Facility), he highlighted the significant task facing BP\nTapera to accelerate the distribution of subsidised houses to ensure the\ngovernment\u2019s 2026 targets are met.<\/p>\n
As of 21 September 2026, only 154,034 units, or approximately 44% of\nthe 350,000-unit target, have been achieved. Maruarar remains present in\nthe evaluation and acceleration strategy meetings.<\/p>\n
The government still needs to pursue approximately 196,000 units\nwithin the effective remaining three months until the end of the year.\nThe government is also preparing several acceleration steps, including\nplans for the mass signing of 71,000 subsidised housing contracts on 17\nDecember 2026 in East Java.<\/p>\n
