The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, has revealed\nthat approximately 50,374 Indonesian umrah pilgrims currently remain in\nSaudi Arabia. According to Irfan, of this figure, 14,115 are stranded\ndue to escalating conflicts in Middle Eastern nations, of which 1,239\nare from umrah organising committees (PPIU).<\/p>\n
\u201cAs of 11 March, there are still 50,374 umrah pilgrims in Saudi\nArabia, with approximately 14,115 potentially stranded or trapped,\nincluding 1,239 from PPIU,\u201d Irfan stated during a Commission VIII\nsession in Parliament on Wednesday (11\/3).<\/p>\n
Irfan noted that the Iran-United States-Israel conflict continues to\nintensify in the Middle Eastern region with no signs of abating in the\nnear term. However, based on reports from the Saudi Arabian government,\nthe situation in Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah remains stable. According\nto Irfan, pilgrims are still able to perform umrah worship peacefully\nand without significant disruption.<\/p>\n
\u201cPilgrims currently in those areas are able to carry out their\nworship peacefully and without meaningful interference,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Nonetheless, Irfan indicated that the government will soon prepare\nworst-case scenarios, particularly to mitigate potential disruptions\nduring the hajj season, preparations for which will commence on 22\nApril.<\/p>\n
