A large heavy-duty truck broke down on a road in Cilincing, North\nJakarta. Traffic was briefly congested and police have now implemented a\ntraffic diversion.<\/p>\n
The mining haul truck broke down in the early hours of the morning at\naround 01.30 WIB on Jalan Kalibaru Barat I, RT 08 RW 08, Kalibaru Urban\nVillage, Cilincing District, North Jakarta. The truck is suspected to\nhave broken down due to a short circuit in its electrical system.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspected cause of the Caterpillar HD truck breaking down was a\nshort circuit, which produced sparks and leaked oil, causing the engine\nsection and the front (driver\u2019s area) to catch fire,\u201d said Cilincing\nPolice Chief AKP Bobi Subasri on Monday (24\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
The truck that broke down and caught fire was extinguished using a\nlight fire extinguisher (APAR). The Caterpillar 773E heavy-duty truck\nthat broke down has dimensions of approximately 9 metres in length,\naround 4 metres in height, and about 5 metres in width.<\/p>\n
The mining truck broke down right at a bend on Jalan Kalibaru Barat\nI. The situation caused the road to narrow.<\/p>\n
The truck will be evacuated to a depot for repairs to the damaged\nengine. The evacuation process is awaiting the arrival of heavy\nequipment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe management has arrived, but the heavy equipment for evacuation\nhas not yet arrived. Thank God the traffic is no longer congested\nbecause the route has been diverted,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
There were no fatalities or injuries as a result of this incident. In\na video received by detikcom, the truck was seen emitting thick smoke\nwhen it first broke down.<\/p>\n
