The national mining industry continues to face transformation\nchallenges amid drives for operational efficiency, digitalisation,\nmineral downstreaming, and demands for sustainable mining practices.\nThis has prompted industry players to strengthen cross-sector\ncollaboration to seek technological solutions and more adaptive business\nstrategies.<\/p>\n
That was reflected in the Indonesia Miner 2026 event held from 5\u20137\nMay 2026. The mining forum brought together more than 2,100 delegates\nfrom over 20 countries through a series of conferences, exhibitions and\ntechnical discussion programmes.<\/p>\n
In its sixth edition, Indonesia Miner introduced a newer, more\ninteractive format, involving more than 60 speakers and 46 exhibitors\nfrom various sectors of the mining industry, from mining companies,\ntechnology providers to investors and regulators. The forum united\nindustry players across the entire value chain, from exploration,\noperations, processing, to the downstream processing of minerals.<\/p>\n
The conference was divided into three main focus areas: Gold &\nCopper and Other Minerals, Critical Metals, and Coal & Energy. The\nthemes covered industry challenges, opportunities for developing\nstrategic minerals, and the direction of transformation for the energy\nand mining sectors.<\/p>\n
In addition to the conference, the exhibition area served as a hub\nfor interaction among industry players, showcasing technology and the\nlatest operational solutions for the mining sector. Forty-six exhibitors\npresented a range of innovations and new approaches in mining\noperations, digitalisation, data management, energy efficiency, and\nworkplace safety.<\/p>\n
The organisers of Indonesia Miner 2026 adopted a more open and\ninteractive area concept to foster collaboration and more intensive idea\nexchange among participants. The new approach is seen as making\ninteractions between attendees more fluid and opening up broader\nbusiness discussion opportunities compared with conventional exhibition\nformats.<\/p>\n
Various technical sessions were also held through the Miners Talk and\nWorkshop programmes, discussing the application of technology, data\nutilisation, and strengthening safety and human resources in the mining\nsector.<\/p>\n
One Miners Talk session featured discussions on the use of artificial\nintelligence (AI) in modern mining operations through the session \u2018From\nData to Decisions: AI Value in Modern Mining\u2019. The forum also included\ndiscussions on integrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)\nstandards into the mining industry through a session initiated by Women\nin Mining and Energy (WiME) Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Several technology firms and mining solutions providers used the\nforum to showcase the latest innovations. For example, Metso introduced\na modular approach for developing crushing and screening facilities to\naccelerate project execution in mining.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndonesia Miner is the right platform for direct discussions with\nindustry players on practical solutions,\u201d said Jason Perrella,\nTechnology Manager\u2013Mining Crushers at Metso, in an official\nstatement.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Coolon introduced Brilliant Connected Lights (BCL) and a\ndigital twin that enable real-time monitoring of mining operations and\nfaster, more accurate decision-making. PT Hexindo Adiperkasa Tbk,\nthrough a session on fatigue risk management, highlighted the importance\nof managing worker fatigue as part of strategies to improve safety and\nproductivity in mining operations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe topic is becoming increasingly important as operational\ncomplexity rises.
