The Manpower Ministry's decision Kep.<br>\n72\/Men\/1984 concerning overtime pay should be obeyed by<br>\nemployers.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta Governor Surjadi Soedirdja has also urged companies in<br>\nJakarta to obey the government's new minimum wage regulation (The<br>\nJakarta Post, April 20, 1996, page three, Firms told to obey new<br>\nminimum wage law).<\/p>\n<p>The governor's demand that companies implement the minimum<br>\nwage law should be obeyed. The government increased the minimum<br>\ndaily wage for employees in Jakarta from Rp.4,600 to Rp.5,200 as<br>\nof April 1, 1996.
