Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Mining Industry Holding MIND ID has
revealed that the documentary film “The Mind Journey: For Indonesia and
The World” provides education on good mining practices to the public.
“Yes, that’s correct; mining does alter the landscape, but if carried
out with the spirit and values of good mining practices, we can see how
the holding’s members uphold these values. From planning to operations
and post-mining activities,” said MIND ID President Director Maroef
Sjamsoeddin in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/4) evening. According to him,
everyday items such as equipment, gear, or gadgets like mobile phones
are products of mining. “So, to truly educate the public, I believe we
must provide education by presenting something through a medium,” he
stated. The documentary film “The Mind Journey: For Indonesia and The
World” also serves as a platform to get to know each other among the
holding’s members, namely PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk, PT Bukit Asam
(Persero) Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT INALUM, PT Timah (Persero) Tbk,
and PT Vale Indonesia Tbk. “I thought, when I first joined MIND ID, that
each holding member should unite under the MIND ID umbrella,” said
Maroef Sjamsoeddin. Therefore, according to him, this film can realise a
shared cultural value that everyone can see and understand. “Because we
are under one umbrella, one shared home, we must know each other. How?
By realising it through an engaging presentation that can be seen and
heard. What is that? A film. That’s the internal purpose of producing
this,” he explained. The documentary film “The Mind Journey: For
Indonesia and The World” presents how MIND ID holding members implement
good mining practices from Sumatra to Papua, contributing from land
reclamation of former mining sites to the education sector through
mobile smart classrooms. The documentary consists of 13 episodes and was
produced by Ari Sihasale and Nia Sihasale Zulkarnaen, who also serve as
hosts in the film “The Mind Journey: For Indonesia and The World”.
",
