Jakarta - Indonesia’s state-owned mining holding company, MIND ID,
participated in the Invirotech 2026 exhibition organised by the Ministry
of Environment. The company presented a booth titled ‘MINERALive:
Tambang yang Menghidupkan’ (Mines that Enliven).

Minister of Environment Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat stated that the
business sector plays a crucial role in promoting clean technology and
accelerating the circular economy to address environmental challenges.
‘The business sector has an important role in implementing clean
technology, improving environmental compliance, and accelerating the
circular economy,’ he said on Friday (12/6/2026).

According to Jumhur, technology and innovation must be continuously
developed to provide real solutions to environmental problems while
helping industries fulfil their responsibilities. ‘INDO ENVIROTECH is a
space that brings together ideas and needs, technology and field
problems, innovation and policy, as well as commitment and
implementation,’ he said. He added that technology must deliver concrete
benefits for the industrial sector and society. ‘Technology must help
industries meet their environmental obligations,’ Jumhur stated.

The MIND ID booth was visited by Minister Jumhur, who reviewed
various circular economy-based environmental management programmes
presented by MIND ID and its group members. The group’s presence at the
exhibition aimed to demonstrate waste management practices focused on
environmental impact mitigation while creating economic value for
communities. MIND ID showed that properly managed waste can become a
resource that provides environmental benefits and opens economic
opportunities for the public.

Within the booth, MIND ID showcased three main areas representing an
integrated waste management approach. The first area featured an organic
waste processing programme using maggots, which has been implemented
across various operational regions. During the exhibition, organic waste
collected from visitors was processed directly using maggots, with
results such as decomposed waste volume and organic fertiliser output
displayed transparently. Visitors received fertiliser as an invitation
to participate in restoring the surrounding natural environment.

In the second area, MIND ID presented a demonstration of plastic
waste management using plastic press and plastic crusher equipment,
representing the implementation of community waste bank programmes.
Visitors could participate by depositing plastic waste, which was then
processed and displayed as part of the recycling process. A 3D printer
was also showcased to demonstrate that inorganic waste within the MIND
ID Group can be transformed into useful, economically valuable
handicraft products. This innovation illustrates that with appropriate
technology, waste can be utilised as economically valuable raw materials
while creating business opportunities for communities.

At the top of the booth, MIND ID installed a themed display featuring
‘cloudy and clear skies’ as a symbol of the company’s commitment to
supporting a cleaner and more sustainable environment. This installation
represents the long-term goal of the various waste management
programmes: to create a better environmental quality for future
generations.

MIND ID believes that waste management is an integral part of the
mining industry’s transformation towards more sustainable practices. The
company hopes for increased public support for strengthening innovation-
and technology-based environmental management practices. For MIND ID,
mining is not only about producing minerals but also ensuring that every
process contributes positively to the environment and society. In line
with this, Minister Jumhur stressed that development and environmental
protection should not be pitted against each other. ‘Building Indonesia
does not mean ignoring the environment. Protecting the environment does
not mean forgetting development. Do not pit development against the
environment,’ he asserted.
",
