        "content": "<p>Military Exhibition opens here<\/p>\n<p>JP\/afs<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Defense and Security Edi Sudradjat<br>\nopened yesterday the Armed Forces' (ABRI) week-long military<br>\nexhibition at the Jakarta Fairground in Kemayoran, Central<br>\nJakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, which is being held in conjunction with ABRI's<br>\ngolden anniversary, will end on Sept. 28.<\/p>\n<p>A number of junior high school examine at Scorpion 90 tank<br>\nbeing displayed at expo (photo above).<\/p>\n<p>The tank is one of the old and modern vehicles belonging to<br>\nthe Army, Navy, Air Force and the National Police, being<br>\ndisplayed at the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>The Army is displaying a wide variety of weapons, including<br>\nAMX-13 tanks, 150-LUS panzers and ground-to-air Rapier missiles,<br>\nwhile the Navy and Air Force are showing-off their military<br>\nequipment on videos.<\/p>\n<p>The National Police are exhibiting equipment used in their<br>\ninvestigations.<\/p>\n<p>Edi said in his opening speech that the exhibition functioned<br>\nas a \"report\" to the public about ABRI's strength.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is expected to help ABRI teach the public about<br>\nthe military and its weapons, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\"The public's knowledge about ABRI is expected to strengthen<br>\nthe connection between ABRI and the people,\" Edi said.
