"summary": "Global oil prices strengthened significantly at the end of trading on Monday (30\/3\/2026) local time, with Brent crude poised to record its highest monthly gain in history, driven by escalating conflicts in the Middle East. US crude broke through the $100 per barrel mark for the first time since 2022, following Houthi attacks on Israel and Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which has pushed prices up by around 57% this month. G7 leaders have pledged to take necessary steps to stabilise energy markets amid warnings from US President Donald Trump of potential strikes on Iranian energy facilities.",
