Naommy, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Indonesia launched a new Microsoft Business Solutions<br>\n(MBS) software on Thursday to help small and medium-size<br>\nenterprises (SMEs) organize their financial affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The integrated software, which costs about US$20,000, covers<br>\nfour solution categories, including enterprise resource<br>\nmanagement (ERM), which will help businesspeople with budgeting<br>\nand controlling cash flow. The software also includes a<br>\nforecaster analytics program for developing future business<br>\nplans.<\/p>\n<p>The web-based forecaster analytics program in ERM will also<br>\nenable users to adjust their market information and do real-time<br>\ninformation exchanges through internet or intranet connections.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Another strong point of this software is that it&apos;s a user-<br>\nfriendly technology since it uses Microsoft Office as its front-<br>\nend, which is pretty familiar for Windows users,&quot; said Vahe<br>\nTorossian, general manager of small and mid-market solutions and<br>\npartners for Microsoft Asia Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>Vahe is optimistic that in the next nine months, the number of<br>\nnew users of the software in Indonesia will grow by 10 percent,<br>\nfrom an estimated 50 customers a year.<\/p>\n<p>The president of Microsoft Indonesia, Tony Chen, said that<br>\nwith globalization just around the corner, SMEs in Indonesia<br>\nshould adjust their competency, accuracy and efficiency by<br>\nbecoming accustomed to IT.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Indonesia now has 25 partners, called implementors,<br>\nto help potential users install the software and assist them with<br>\nthe overall application of the MBS programs.<\/p>\n<p>Worldwide, Microsoft has invested $2.5 billion to gear up the<br>\nnew MBS software around the world, with the assistance of 1,700<br>\nresearch and development staff members.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft has estimated that IT investment by SMEs in the Asia<br>\nPacific will grow by about 50 percent from last year&apos;s $80<br>\nbillion to $125 billion in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Even though many businesspeople will likely postpone any new<br>\ninvestment in IT until the elections are over, Tony is optimistic<br>\nthe company&apos;s sales in Indonesia will grow by up to 20 percent<br>\nthis year.<\/p>",
