        "content": "<p>Microsoft in Malaysia<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Microsoft Corp. chief executive Bill Gates<br>\nhas accepted an offer to set up operations in a high-technology<br>\nzone being constructed in Malaysia, Prime Minister Mahathir<br>\nMohamad said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Gates, head of an eight-billion-dollar software company, had<br>\nwritten to Mahathir to say he intended to participate in the so-<br>\ncalled Multimedia Super Corridor.<\/p>\n<p>\"I can say for certain that I got a letter from Bill Gates<br>\nyesterday, he has accepted the offer.... but there are others as<br>\nwell,\" said Mahathir after opening an information technology<br>\nconference.<\/p>\n<p>About 20 companies including Microsoft and Sun Microsystem of<br>\nthe United States had confirmed their intention to establish<br>\noperations in the project, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the companies were from the United States, Japan and<br>\nCanada.<\/p>",
