        "content": "<p>PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU), part of MMS Resources, has realised its\ncommitment to community empowerment in education through the Equivalency\nEducation Programme A, B and C held in the Kutai Kartanegara Regency\nmining area, East Kalimantan.<\/p>\n<p>President Director of PT Multi Harapan Utama, Kemal Djamil Siregar,\nsaid education is a crucial foundation for creating sustainable social\nimpact in the company\u2019s operational areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018For MHU, operational success must go hand in hand with improving the\nquality of life for communities,\u2019 Kemal stated on Thursday, 28 May\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the equivalency education and scholarship programme\nis not merely social assistance, but a long-term investment to open\naccess, opportunities, and a better future for communities around MHU\u2019s\noperational areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We believe education is a key to unlocking broader opportunities and\ncreating a more independent and competitive society,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that since its inception in 2019, the programme has helped\n869 residents obtain equivalency certificates, with 212 graduates\nsecuring employment across various companies and business sectors.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Given this impact, MHU has been recognised for delivering tangible\nsocial benefits through enhanced education access and economic\nopportunities for communities,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>With this dedication, PT Multi Harapan Utama received the Indonesia\nBest CSR Awards 2026, organised by The Iconomics. The award was\npresented at an event held at the Aneka Bhakti Building, Ministry of\nSocial Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, on Thursday, 21\nMay 2025, under the theme \u2018CSR Transformation: Corporate Adaptation Amid\nthe New Direction of President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s Government.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The programme originated from MHU\u2019s social mapping showing high\ndropout rates in the Ring 1 operational area. Out of approximately\n52,000 residents across 10 villages, around 34% had not completed formal\neducation.<\/p>\n<p>To address this challenge, MHU, in collaboration with PKBM Puteri\nKarang Melenu in Loa Kulu District, introduced the equivalency education\nprogramme as part of long-term community development efforts.<\/p>",
