Mexican film week at TIM<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Mexican film week is now underway at Taman
\nIsmail Marzuki and will run at the Teater Tertutup until this
\nSunday, Feb. 19.<\/p>\n
The film festival, which has been organized by the Jakarta
\nKine Klub, is comprised mainly of films from the l980s, including
\nHard Days, Mariana, Mariana, Hope, Romelia's Story and Empire of
\nthe Fortune.<\/p>\n
Most of the films were produced by Imcine, a company widely-
\nknown in Mexico for its active promotion of the country's film
\nindustry.<\/p>\n
Imcine is one of two major film companies in Mexico. The
\nother, Televicine, is also known as the producer of the
\ntelenovela Maria Mercedes, which has a wide following among
\nIndonesian viewers.<\/p>\n
The Mexican Film Festival will cover much ground and deal with
\nthemes ranging from middle-class society and affairs of love to
\nrevolutionary struggle. The festival is a rare gem for Jakarta
