PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk (Metrodata) successfully held Metrodata\nSolution Day (MSD) 2026 with the theme \u201cWinning with AI: Build, Run, and\nScale for Measurable Impact\u201d at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, on\nThursday (20\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
Entering its 21st year, the theme underscores a shift in the\ncompany\u2019s focus in utilising artificial intelligence (AI), from merely\nadopting technology to generating real and measurable business\nimpact.<\/p>\n
This message is becoming increasingly relevant amid rising AI\ninvestment in Indonesia. In the IDC Info Snapshot From AI Spending to AI\nValue Creation, 56.7 percent of organisations in Indonesia plan to\nincrease their GenAI budgets by more than 50 percent, nearly double the\nAsia\/Pacific average of 29.8 percent.<\/p>\n
However, the scale of this investment has not been fully matched by\nimplementation maturity. IDC notes that AI maturity among organisations\nin Indonesia has only reached 2.03 on a scale of 5, indicating a gap\nbetween investment enthusiasm and organisational readiness to optimise\nAI.<\/p>\n
At MSD 2026, Metrodata also held a press conference attended by more\nthan 40 media outlets. On this occasion, journalists gained perspectives\nfrom Metrodata and several global technology companies on the\ndevelopment of AI implementation in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
President Director of PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk Susanto Djaja said\norganisations must now change how they measure AI success. \u201cWe have\npassed the phase where adoption was the measure of progress. Indonesia\nhas proven that, as one of the markets with the highest AI adoption\nspeed in the region. What matters now is the value generated, not how\nquickly the technology is adopted,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n
According to Susanto, organisations need discipline, governance, and\naccountability in every AI investment. Therefore, MSD 2026 invites\ncompanies to measure success not by adoption speed, but by the real\nimpact created.<\/p>\n
This idea is translated by Metrodata through three main stages:\nBuild, Run, and Scale. Build focuses on data readiness, architecture,\nand selecting use cases that fit business needs. Run emphasises\ngovernance, security, operations, and measurement so that AI\nimplementation runs consistently. Meanwhile, Scale is directed at\nexpanding AI utilisation across various business functions to increase\nproductivity and accelerate decision-making.<\/p>\n
Vice President, Alliances & Channels, ASEAN at Salesforce Pravar\nGautam also stressed that AI requires not only technological capability,\nbut also organisational readiness and local capability to generate\nbusiness value.<\/p>\n
\u201cTechnology, especially AI, is not just about technology adoption.\nThere is a functional side that is also important, such as change\nmanagement, adoption, and skills development on the customer and partner\nside,\u201d said Pravar.<\/p>\n
This approach shows that the journey towards AI utilisation does not\nstop once the technology is in use. Companies need to ensure employees\nhave the appropriate skills, partners have adequate implementation\ncapability, and the organisation is ready to face changes in work\nprocesses.<\/p>\n
With the sub-theme \u201cAccelerating AI for Real Business and Operational\nValue\u201d, MSD 2026 brought together business leaders, technology\npractitioners, and global technology partners. More than 30 technology\npartners participated through keynotes, executive discussions, and\nvarious sessions covering AI, cloud, cybersecurity, data analytics,\nmodern infrastructure, and enterprise applications.<\/p>\n
Several partners also emphasised the importance of transforming AI\nfrom experimentation into part of company operations.<\/p>\n
Country General Manager Microsoft Indonesia Gunawan Susanto said the\ndiscussion about AI is no longer about access to technology, but how\nthat technology can be applied. \u201cSuccessful organisations are those that\ncan integrate AI into daily work, manage it responsibly, and expand its\napplication across the entire organisation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Microsoft, together with Metrodata, is working to help companies\nbridge the gap between AI experimentation and measurable business value\ncreation.<\/p>\n
Google Cloud Indonesia also believes companies need to move beyond\npilot projects. Country Director Google Cloud Indonesia Karim Siregar\nstressed the importance of integrating AI agents directly into daily\noperations so that companies can innovate and implement at a wider\nscale.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, security and governance are important parts of\nthis journey. Red Hat highlighted the need for an open, flexible, and\nsecure hybrid cloud foundation. Meanwhile, Palo Alto Networks reminded\nthat AI also accelerates cyber threats.<\/p>\n
\u201cAI accelerates cyber threats as fast as it transforms business.\nSecuring AI is not about adding new tools, but about taking a unified\nplatform approach to cybersecurity,\u201d said Solutions Consulting Manager\nPalo Alto Networks Arthur Siahaan.<\/p>\n
Country Manager Red Hat Indonesia Vony Tjiu also reiterated that to\nturn AI investment into real results, organisations need the ability to\ndeploy and scale AI workloads seamlessly across various IT environments\nwithout dependence on a single vendor.<\/p>\n
