        "content": "<p>Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Police Brigadier General Dekananto Eko\nPurwono said the directives from the Police Chief are a follow-up to the\nPresident\u2019s national priority programme outlined in Presidential\nRegulation No.\u00a0109 of 2025, which stipulates that urban waste management\nwill be converted into renewable energy. Speaking after the launch\nparade for the Keep Jakarta Clean and Beautiful movement at Polda Metro\nJaya on Saturday (23 May 2026). In the Keep Jakarta Clean and Beautiful\nmovement, 6,379 personnel are involved. They comprise 1,000 personnel\nfrom 29 units of the Metro Jaya Police, 2,440 personnel from 13 Polres\nin the jurisdiction, and 2,939 personnel from 102 Polsek in the\njurisdiction. Dekananto said the Metro Jaya Police have also provided\nsegregated waste bins at the Mako Polda, Polres, and Polsek\nenvironments, totaling 821 bins. They include 465 segregated bins at the\nMetro Jaya Police environment, 123 at the respective Polres, and 233 at\nthe respective Polsek. The bins are for organic, non-organic, and\nhazardous (B3) waste. He urged the public to work together with the\npolice to tackle Jakarta\u2019s waste issue. \u201cToday the Police Chief invited\nleaders of societal organisations, with the aim that the Police,\nespecially the Metro Jaya Police, work in partnership with the community\nto address this waste issue,\u201d he said. Further, Dekananto stated that\nthe Keep Jakarta Clean and Beautiful movement aligns with government\npolicy on urban waste management and aims to build shared awareness to\nsort waste starting from the workplace. He said the movement is also\npart of the Metro Police\u2019s commitment to be present in a humane way in\nsociety. \u201cWaste issues may seem simple, but if we do not manage them\nproperly, consistently, and sustainably, and make them a culture for\nevery member of the Police and the public, they will become a major\nproblem.
