Jakarta (ANTARA) - Metro Jaya Police stated they have not yet\nreceived a report related to Restorative Justice (RJ) concerning the\ncase in the \u201cMens Rea\u201d performance involving comedian Pandji\nPragiwaksono.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegarding Mr Pandji, there was an attempt at a meeting, but we have\nnot yet received a complete report. We will convey it to colleagues in\nthe next stage,\u201d said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police,\nCommissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n
Previously, he said he would communicate with the investigators\nregarding the presence of the suspect with five of the complainants at\nMetro Jaya Police on Thursday (9\/4).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are still asking the investigator friends about the presence of\nthe suspect with five complainants; whether this constitutes an effort\nfor mediation towards Restorative Justice. We will convey it later,\u201d\nBudi stated.<\/p>\n
As is known, comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono held a dialogue with the\ncomplainants who reported him to Metro Jaya Police regarding the case in\nthe \u201cMens Rea\u201d performance.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe requested the Metro Jaya Police through the Directorate of\nCriminal Investigation to hold a kind of dialogue with the complainants.\nThere were five complainants present, all attended, and the dialogue\nprocess was well facilitated by Metro Jaya Police, which had been\nprepared approximately two weeks in advance,\u201d said Pandji Pragiwaksono\u2019s\nlegal representative, Haris Azhar, at Metro Jaya Police on Thursday\n(9\/4).<\/p>\n
\u201cBut we showed good faith that we wanted dialogue, to exchange\nthoughts, information, and views on what the background was for them to\nfile a report with Metro Jaya Police,\u201d Haris said.<\/p>\n
In that dialogue, according to him, the complainants wanted an\napology from Pandji. Then, Pandji was asked to repent to Allah SWT, not\nrepeat his actions, and apologise to the public.<\/p>\n
Haris added that if the dialogue is held again, his side would be\npleased and even willing to visit the complainants\u2019 locations for\ndiscussion.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, it was purely a real dialogue, I emphasise again. We seek the\nsubstance genuinely, with mutual exchange. We are not bothered by issues\nof stopping it, RJ (Restorative Justice), withdrawing the report, or\ncontinuing the case,\u201d Haris stated.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Pandji said the dialogue was something he had long wanted\nto do to directly hear the complainants\u2019 grievances and provide\nexplanations to them.<\/p>\n
