        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Digital platform companies Meta and Google have\ncomplied with a summons from the Ministry of Communication and Digital\nto undergo examination regarding allegations of violating Government\nRegulation Number 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic System\nProviders in Child Protection (PP Tunas).<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Digital Space Supervision at Komdigi, Alexander\nSabar, explained that Meta underwent examination at the Komdigi office\non Monday (6\/4). Meanwhile, Google attended Komdigi on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeta, which oversees Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, as well as\nGoogle, which owns YouTube, have both complied with our second summons,\u201d\nsaid Alexander at the Komdigi office in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo our focus is on Article 30 of the Ministerial Regulation on the\nimplementation of PP Tunas,\u201d Alexander stated.<\/p>\n<p>Komdigi has not yet disclosed the results of the examination, as\nfurther investigation is still underway.<\/p>\n<p>It is known that the Minister of Communication and Digital\n(Menkomdigi), Meutya Hafid, firmly announced the summoning of Meta and\nGoogle as a consequence of these two tech giants failing to comply with\nthe provisions of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 on Child\nProtection Governance of Electronic System Providers (PP Tunas) and its\nderivative regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Meutya stated that both tech giants violated the provisions of\nKomdigi Ministerial Regulation Number 9 of 2026, which is the\nimplementing regulation for PP Tunas.<\/p>\n<p>Meta is the parent company of the digital platforms Threads,\nFacebook, and Instagram. Meanwhile, Google is the parent company of the\nYouTube platform.<\/p>\n<p>These digital platforms are categorised under Komdigi Ministerial\nRegulation Number 9 of 2026 as high-risk platforms and are required to\nrestrict children\u2019s access to their services.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, up to the time the regulation took effect, all these\nplatforms had not yet fulfilled their obligations to restrict children\u2019s\naccess to the platforms.<\/p>",
