        "content": "<p>Message from the EuroCham Chairman<\/p>\n<p>This month marks the first anniversary of EuroCham, the European <br>\nBusiness Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia. Funded by a number of <br>\nmajor European companies, the national European Business <br>\nAssociations in Indonesia and including Indonesian partners with <br>\nlinks to Europe, Eurocham gives some 1000 European companies <br>\noperating in Indonesia a distinctly European voice.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last five years Indonesia's two-way trade with the EU <br>\nheld steady at a solid 14 billion euros, making the EU the second <br>\nmost important export market for Indonesia. However there is a <br>\nlot to be done to consolidate these relations and EuroCham <br>\nbelieves that Indonesia has the potential to become much more <br>\nthan a resource base for its major trading partners to bring on <br>\nthe added value to tackle global markets.<\/p>\n<p>European companies are eager to invest in Indonesia; to bring <br>\nin capital, technology and expertise and make the best use of <br>\nIndonesia's unique advantages on account of its large internal <br>\nmarket and its strategic position. Indonesia can exploit fully <br>\nthe opportunities of the wide open market of the enlarged <br>\nEuropean Union, which will soon comprise 500 million customers.<\/p>\n<p>European business has been a long-standing and loyal partner <br>\nin Indonesia's development and EuroCham is pleased to announce <br>\nthat it will organize a European Infrastructure Forum on 12 May <br>\nin Jakarta that will contribute to increase European investors' <br>\npresence in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Frangois Fichaux<\/p>",
