        "content": "<p>Minister of Population and Family Development and Head of the\nNational Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), Wihaji, has\nstated that mental resilience is key for Indonesia\u2019s young generation in\nfacing increasingly rapid social and technological changes in the era of\nartificial intelligence (AI). At the opening of the 16th anniversary\ncommemoration of Generasi Berencana (Genre), Wihaji said that today\u2019s\nyouth live amidst a new civilisation marked by a torrent of information\nand AI developments that influence how society thinks. \u201cToday we need\nmental readiness to bounce back, which we call resilience, because the\ncivilisation algorithm influenced by AI is increasingly blurring the\nlines between what is right and wrong, what is guidance and what is mere\nspectacle,\u201d he said in Jakarta on Monday. According to him, the\nchallenges faced by teenagers today are vastly different from those 16\nyears ago. If creativity and innovation were previously the main focus,\nnow the young generation is also required to have the ability to filter\ninformation and strong mental resilience so as not to be easily\ninfluenced by various digital content. Wihaji noted that Indonesia has\naround 46 million families with members aged 10\u201324 years. This age group\nrepresents the generation that will play an important role in national\ndevelopment over the next two decades. \u201cWhether you agree or not, in 17\nto 20 years you (the young generation) will lead Indonesia, so what must\nbe prepared is not only academic ability, but also mental maturity and\nthe ability to rise to face challenges,\u201d he said. He also reminded that\nAI development brings great benefits, but its use must be accompanied by\ncritical thinking skills. The young generation must not blindly accept\nevery piece of information obtained from digital technology without\nverification. Therefore, Genre has a strategic role in helping teenagers\nface the changing times through character strengthening, family values,\nand sustainable mentoring. \u201cIn my view, Genre is part of the answer for\nmillions of Indonesian families with teenagers. They not only need\nsomething to hold on to, but also need clear guidance and direction,\u201d he\nexplained. Furthermore, Wihaji emphasised that the family remains the\nprimary foundation for shaping the young generation\u2019s character through\nthe implementation of the eight family functions, including the\nreligious function as a guide in daily life. Meanwhile, General\nChairperson of the Indonesian Genre Forum 2024-2026, I Putu Arya Aditia\nUtama, stated that Genre has three main roles to realise a more advanced\nyoung generation: as an actor, amplifier, and accelerator. \u201cGenre does\nnot only discuss, but also carries out real action in the field. Genre\ncadres actively go to schools, villages, and communities to provide\neducation to teenagers,\u201d he said.
