        "content": "<p>The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme is no ordinary initiative.\nWe are talking about pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and\ntoddlers, so even a slight mis-targeting can have significant\nimpacts.<\/p>\n<p>Pemalang (ANTARA) - The Minister for Population and Family\nDevelopment (Mendukbangga)\/Head of BKKBN Wihaji stated that the Free\nNutritious Meals (MBG) programme is part of efforts to anticipate\nstunting-risk families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis (MBG) is not an ordinary programme. We are talking about\npregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers, so even a slight\nmis-targeting can have a big impact,\u201d said Mendukbangga\/Head of BKKBN\nWihaji in Pemalang, Central Java, on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He said he came to ensure that the MBG programme runs according to\nits targets, especially for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and\ntoddlers (Group 3B).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, I am checking directly (in Pemalang). The instructions\nfrom the centre are clear that the quality (of MBG) is now the top\npriority, so criticism from the public must continue to be conveyed and\nnot ignored,\u201d said Mendukbangga Wihaji.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, there are currently around 8.6 million\nStunting-Risk Families (KRS), so one effort to address this issue is\nthrough the MBG programme.<\/p>\n<p>However, in Pemalang Regency, he directly found conditions of\nresidents\u2019 houses where the distance between the toilet and the kitchen\nis very close and does not meet habitability standards.<\/p>\n<p>For its handling, he said, cooperation is being carried out with\ninstitutions such as Baznas and zakat houses to improve houses and\nsanitation facilities, while ensuring nutritional intake is met through\nthe MBG programme.<\/p>\n<p>During the activity visit in Pemalang Regency, Mendukbangga Wihaji\nsaid that this year they are targeting the stunting rate to drop to\n18.8% from the previous 19.8%, and in the long term, the stunting rate\nis targeted to be reduced to 14% by 2029.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis cannot be ignored because it concerns the quality of future\ngenerations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that handling stunting and MBG distribution cannot be\nburdened on one ministry alone; various sectors must move together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe scheme used is the Pentahelix approach, involving government,\nsociety, business, academics, and the role of the media.
