        "content": "<p>Megawati may keep PDI-P's top post<\/p>\n<p>PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: Despite her defeat in the<br>\npresidential election and her party's loss in the legislative<br>\nelection, Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle leader Megawati<br>\nSoekarnoputri remains the favorite when the party congress opens<br>\nin Bali at the end of the month, according to one party<br>\nfunctionary.<\/p>\n<p>A local party executive, Elianuddin HB, said Megawati's chance<br>\nof retaining the post \"stood at 95 percent\" as reflected in the<br>\nunanimous support from representatives of the party's regency<br>\nbranches, who met recently.<\/p>\n<p>He said the delegations would either renominate her, demand<br>\nher reelection or support the party's decision to give her the<br>\nmandate for a third successive term during the congress.<\/p>\n<p>The party may have to weather its most serious rift ever ahead<br>\nof the congress, with some leading politicians campaigning for<br>\nsweeping reforms within the party. -- Antara<\/p>",
