Former President and General Chairwoman of PDI Perjuangan (PDIP)\nMegawati Soekarnoputri attended the Singgasana Seni Bung Karno event\nheld at the Bali Beach Convention Center in Sanur on Saturday, 28\nFebruary 2026.<\/p>\n
Megawati arrived at the venue under tight security and was greeted by\nparty officials, community leaders, and invited guests. Her presence\nreceived a warm reception, given her reputation as a figure consistently\ndedicated to preserving and disseminating the teachings of Bung Karno,\nwho was also her father.<\/p>\n
Bali Governor Wayan Koster stated: \u201cThis is the first time this event\nhas been held and it will continue. Bali is the starting point, and in\nthe future it will be held in various other cities. Evaluations will be\nconducted from here to improve the next editions.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe welcome the presence of Ibu Megawati at the Singgasana Seni Bung\nKarno event. This is a very positive activity to preserve and strengthen\nBung Karno\u2019s thinking,\u201d said Koster, the Head of PDI Perjuangan\u2019s Bali\nRegional Representative Council.<\/p>\n
Koster emphasised that the agenda was purely a forum for ideological\nreflection and strengthening national values, particularly the teachings\nof Indonesia\u2019s Proclaimer, Sukarno. \u201cThere is no other agenda. This is\npurely an ideological activity, a reflection of Bung Karno\u2019s thinking,\nand a strengthening of national spirit,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
Beyond its artistic dimensions, the event also served as a tribute to\nBung Karno\u2019s artistic appreciation, known for his considerable interest\nin art, culture, and national identity.<\/p>\n
At the event, Megawati was accompanied by her son, Prananda Prabowo.\nAlso present were Bali Vice Governor I Nyoman Giri Prasta and several\nregional heads from Bali.<\/p>\n
The event, initiated by Mahagaya Pagelaran Persona (MPP), combined\nvarious elements of art and creative economy. Visitors were presented\nwith fashion shows, musical performances, exhibitions of Balinese small\nand medium enterprise products, and food bazaars from micro, small and\nmedium enterprises.<\/p>\n
Event organiser Nancy Prananda explained that the activity was\ndesigned as a space for local designers to showcase works inspired by\nregional cultural richness. She noted that each future event would\nhighlight the distinctive character of the host city.<\/p>\n
In this inaugural edition, 20 fashion designs were presented,\ncomprising 10 men\u2019s designs and 10 women\u2019s designs. Some collections\nalso featured ecoprint techniques resulting from collaboration with\nmicro, small and medium enterprises supported by MPP.<\/p>\n
