        "content": "<p>Mega receives new envoys<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: President Megawati Soekarnoputri on Thursday received<br>\ncredential letters from new ambassadors of Canada, Kuwait and<br>\nSlovak to Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Randolph Bruce Mank of Canada, Ambassador Mochammad<br>\nAdel Khalaf of Kuwait and Ambassador Peter Holasek of Slovak<br>\nsubmitted their credential letters in a state ceremony at the<br>\nMerdeka Palace.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia is not an unfamiliar place for Ambassador Mank, who<br>\nwas once assigned to Jakarta earlier in his career and he<br>\nexpressed the commitment of his government to build strong<br>\nrelations with Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\"Canada is committed to developing strong political and<br>\neconomic relations with Indonesia,\" he said in a statement<br>\nprovided to The Jakarta Post on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\"I am particularly pleased to serve as the representative of<br>\nCanadian government during what I am sure will be crucial years<br>\nfor Indonesia and its development as a democratic nation and as a<br>\nleader in the region,\" Mank stated.--JP<\/p>",
