        "content": "<p>Mega orders Cabinet members to prepare accountability reports<\/p>\n<p>Fabiola Desy Unidjaja, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>Outgoing President Megawati Soekarnoputri ordered all of her<br>\nCabinet members on Wednesday to prepare detailed and accurate<br>\naccountability reports so that the next government can start<br>\nworking immediately.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The President says the accountability reports must be clear<br>\nand detailed so that the upcoming government can begin its work<br>\nimmediately,&quot; acting Coordinating Minister for Political and<br>\nSecurity Affairs Hari Sabarno said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hari, who together with Coordinating Minister for<br>\nthe Economy Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti met Megawati for one hour<br>\non Wednesday. The President wants the reports to be completed<br>\nbefore Oct. 20.<\/p>\n<p>Megawati, who was ushered into the presidential post in 2001,<br>\nwould formally end her term on Oct. 20, when president-elect<br>\nSusilo Bambang Yudhoyono and running mate Jusuf Kalla will be<br>\nsworn in.<\/p>\n<p>Hari said each minister may discuss their reports with their<br>\nreplacement after the inauguration of the new president.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The discussion can be done after the inauguration between the<br>\nformer (Megawati&apos;s) ministers and the new (Susilo&apos;s) ministers,&quot;<br>\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>Susilo and Kalla have several times expressed their desire to<br>\nmeet Megawati to discuss the transition of power but she has so<br>\nfar declined to meet the two.<\/p>\n<p>Megawati&apos;s inner circle has been persuading her to meet<br>\nSusilo, but on Tuesday she hinted that she may never meet the<br>\npair before the swearing-in ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, Megawati has taken several controversial<br>\ndecisions, including the appointment of Army chief Gen. Ryamizard<br>\nRyacudu as the acting Indonesian Military (TNI) chief following<br>\nthe resignation of Gen. Endriartono Sutarto.<\/p>\n<p>Susilo will be inaugurated on Oct. 20 and is slated to reveal<br>\nhis Cabinet members soon after the People&apos;s Consultative Assembly<br>\n(MPR) swears him in.<\/p>\n<p>Susilo had hinted earlier that his Cabinet would be more or<br>\nless the same with the current structure, with no major changes<br>\nin positions.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, State\/Cabinet Secretary Bambang Kesowo said on<br>\nWednesday that none of Susilo&apos;s camp have contacted the palace<br>\nregarding preparations for the new office, including plans for<br>\nSusilo to reside at Merdeka Palace.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;But it should not be a problem as preparations will not take<br>\nlong because everything is in place and only needs minor<br>\nadjustments,&quot; he said.<\/p>",
