Mega orders Cabinet members to prepare accountability reports<\/p>\n

Outgoing President Megawati Soekarnoputri ordered all of her
\nCabinet members on Wednesday to prepare detailed and accurate
\naccountability reports so that the next government can start
\nworking immediately.<\/p>\n
"The President says the accountability reports must be clear
\nand detailed so that the upcoming government can begin its work
\nimmediately," acting Coordinating Minister for Political and
\nSecurity Affairs Hari Sabarno said.<\/p>\n
According to Hari, who together with Coordinating Minister for
\nthe Economy Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti met Megawati for one hour
\non Wednesday. The President wants the reports to be completed
\nbefore Oct. 20.<\/p>\n
Megawati, who was ushered into the presidential post in 2001,
\nwould formally end her term on Oct. 20, when president-elect
\nSusilo Bambang Yudhoyono and running mate Jusuf Kalla will be
\nsworn in.<\/p>\n
Hari said each minister may discuss their reports with their
\nreplacement after the inauguration of the new president.<\/p>\n
"The discussion can be done after the inauguration between the
\nformer (Megawati's) ministers and the new (Susilo's) ministers,"
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
Susilo and Kalla have several times expressed their desire to
\nmeet Megawati to discuss the transition of power but she has so
\nfar declined to meet the two.<\/p>\n
Megawati's inner circle has been persuading her to meet
\nSusilo, but on Tuesday she hinted that she may never meet the
\npair before the swearing-in ceremony.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, Megawati has taken several controversial
\ndecisions, including the appointment of Army chief Gen. Ryamizard
\nRyacudu as the acting Indonesian Military (TNI) chief following
\nthe resignation of Gen. Endriartono Sutarto.<\/p>\n
Susilo will be inaugurated on Oct. 20 and is slated to reveal
\nhis Cabinet members soon after the People's Consultative Assembly
\n(MPR) swears him in.<\/p>\n
Susilo had hinted earlier that his Cabinet would be more or
\nless the same with the current structure, with no major changes
\nin positions.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, State\/Cabinet Secretary Bambang Kesowo said on
\nWednesday that none of Susilo's camp have contacted the palace
\nregarding preparations for the new office, including plans for
\nSusilo to reside at Merdeka Palace.<\/p>\n
"But it should not be a problem as preparations will not take
\nlong because everything is in place and only needs minor
\nadjustments," he said.<\/p>",
