Jakarta, Investortrust.id - The General Chairman of the Indonesian
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie,
received an audience from the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to
Indonesia, Mario Ignacio Artaza Loyola, at the Kadin Indonesia Tower on
Thursday (23/04/2026). This meeting discussed strengthening trade and
investment cooperation between the two countries.

Anindya, or Anin as he is affectionately known, views the Republic of
Chile as a strategic partner, particularly because it has become a
member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development
(OECD).

Anin stated that Chile’s experience could serve as a reference for
Indonesia in the OECD accession process, especially in increasing
investment.

“Chile is very interesting because Chile has joined the OECD. That
means the benefits (certainly) investment, there (in the OECD) many
countries that trust higher investment standards and this we can get
more investment that we need, which means for jobs and so on,” Anin said
after the meeting.

Anin added that Indonesia and the Republic of Chile are also both
members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and already have
the Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement
(IC-CEPA), which needs to be continuously optimised.

“We have a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement from 2017
that we want to enhance. We export a lot of automotive components, as
well as footwear, but we also get many agricultural products, including
efforts for cattle, for live cattle, to help milk and protein for MBG
(free nutritious meals),” Anin explained.

Meanwhile, the Chilean Ambassador to Indonesia, Mario Ignacio Artaza
Loyola, conveyed his optimism regarding the enhancement of economic
relations between the two countries, both in terms of trade and
investment.

“We want to strengthen the existing cooperation and encourage more
active trade in the future,” he said.

He also highlighted the increasingly open investment opportunities,
including in the industrial sector and downstreaming.

“There is great room for investment from Chile to Indonesia and vice
versa. The downstreaming process is also very interesting to develop
together,” Mario stated.

According to him, amid increasingly tight global competition,
collaboration between the two countries is key to opening new
opportunities in various sectors.

“We live in an era where we need to work together to identify new
opportunities in the fields of trade, investment, and knowledge,” he
concluded.
",
