        "content": "<p>Meekatharra enters RI<\/p>\n<p>MELBOURNE (Reuters): Meekatharra Minerals Ltd said on Tuesday<br>\nits subsidiary MM Gold Pty Ltd and joint venture partner Teck<br>\nCorp signed option agreements to acquire a majority interest in<br>\ntwo contracts of work in Indonesia's \"Trans Borneo Gold Belt.\"<\/p>\n<p>The agreements were reached with South Pacific Resources Corp,<br>\nwhich holds 85 percent of the Masao and 90 percent of the Mirih<br>\ngold exploration projects, located in Kalimantan.<\/p>\n<p>Meekathara said the project sites are regarded as highly<br>\nprospective for epithermal gold and porphyry copper and gold<br>\ndeposits.<\/p>\n<p>The agreements cover sixth generation contracts of work, which<br>\nare government licenses to explore in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The agreements allow Meekatharra and Teck to acquire 51<br>\npercent of each of South Pacific's offshore companies which<br>\ncontrol the projects, by funding US$3 million for exploration on<br>\neach project.<\/p>\n<p>The interests can be increased to 60 percent through<br>\nexpenditure of a further US$1.5 million on each project,<br>\nMeekatharra said.<\/p>",
