The semiconductor company MediaTek has introduced the Dimensity 9600\nPro as its first two-nanometre (nm) chip.<\/p>\n
According to a report by GSM Arena on Tuesday (15\/9), the chip,\nfeaturing the latest CPU and GPU designs from Arm, offers significant\nperformance enhancements across various aspects, with a primary focus on\nartificial intelligence computing performance.<\/p>\n
The CPU configuration in this chip consists of two Ultra-class CPU\ncores, promising a 17 per cent increase in single-core performance and a\n37 per cent improvement in efficiency. For multi-threaded tasks, the CPU\nperformance is 15 per cent higher, while efficiency is 61 per cent\nbetter.<\/p>\n
The GPU utilised in the Dimensity 9600 Pro is the Mali-G2 Ultra NX,\nsupporting frame rates of over 185+ fps. The peak performance of this\nGPU is 27 per cent higher than the previous generation, its ray tracing\nis 18 per cent faster, and its power efficiency is 24 per cent\nhigher.<\/p>\n
The chip supports LPDDR5X and LPDTR6 RAM technologies, as well as UFS\n5.0 internal storage memory.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the chip is capable of delivering a 55 per cent increase\nin token generation performance per watt and a 51 per cent improvement\nin prompt response speed. The Dimensity 9600 Pro also allows the ISP to\nconnect directly with the NPU, utilising it for photo and video\nprocessing.<\/p>\n
The chip supports camera sensors up to 200MP and video recording up\nto 8K resolution at 60fps. Its video decoding engine now also supports\nthe VVC or H.266 format.<\/p>\n
