Measuring political maturity<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, the National Election Commissions (KPU) is
\nexpected to announce the names of the political parties that have
\nbeen cleared to contest the 2004 elections.<\/p>\n
From the announcement, we are going to see to what extent the
\npolitical maturity of our politicians is.<\/p>\n
When the Department of Justice and Human Rights recently
\nannounced the verification result of the political parties,
\nprotests came from various corners.<\/p>\n
The KPU is likely to face the similar protest from the
\npolitical parties which could fail to be eligible for next year's
\nelections.<\/p>\n
It is natural that the political parties can defend their
\nrights, but as far as they do it in an elegant way we can support
\nit.<\/p>\n
However, what we do not expect to happen is a selfish and
\nviolent attitude which violate the existing regulations.<\/p>\n
Hence, the political maturity of our politicians can be seen
\nfrom the way they convey their opinion in a dialog and how they
\naccept the results of the dialog itself.<\/p>\n
