The
Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has enhanced protections for
Indonesian Haj pilgrims during the Mina phase by deploying Mobile Crisis
Rescue (MCR) teams in the Jamarat area.Special teams have been deployed
to provide first aid, emergency evacuations, and crowd management during
the stoning ritual on the Days of Tashreeq.Media Indonesia reports that
the teams have been on standby since Wednesday (27 May), coinciding with
pilgrims’ arrival at Jamarat following their overnight stay in
Muzdalifah and Mina.Personnel are drawn from the Pilgrim Protection
(Linjam) and Haj Pilgrim Crisis Management and First Aid (PPKPJH)units.
To ensure rapid emergency response, officers are stationed on Jamarat’s
first and third floors.Kemenhaj spokesperson Maria Assegaff emphasised
that MCR is a critical instrument for strengthening security and
services at key pilgrimage points.‘MCR, or Mobile Crisis Rescue, is a
specialised team and coordination post from the Haj Pilgrim
Implementation Units deployed in Jamarat and Mina. The team is tasked
with providing first aid, conducting emergency evacuations, and managing
crowd densities during the peak Haj rituals,’ Assegaff said on Thursday
(28 May).Assegaff explained that the strategic placement of personnel
enables real-time situational monitoring, ensuring faster response to
emergencies or medical needs. At the site, MCR’s readiness was evident in
handling cases of acute fatigue and pilgrims separated from their
groups.“MCR was specifically formed to respond to emergencies, including
assistance for unconscious, lost, or severely exhausted pilgrims, as
well as evacuations for elderly and disabled pilgrims,” she added. The
presence of MCR, Assegaff continued, is part of Kemenhaj’s efforts to
ensure all on-site dynamics are handled Swiftly, accurately, and
coordinately. This proactive step aligns with the government’s
commitment to providing safe, orderly, and inclusive Haj services for
the elderly, disabled, and women.
",
