"summary": "The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs has begun disbursing the May 2026 BPNT social assistance programme, providing Rp 600,000 to eligible family beneficiaries for the April to June period, distributed through Himbara banks and post offices. This quarterly payout includes hundreds of thousands of new recipients added via village proposals, social services, and the Cek Bansos app, replacing those no longer qualifying to maintain the overall number of beneficiaries. The government emphasises ongoing verification to update recipient lists, ensuring aid targets those in need amid efforts to support vulnerable households.",
"content": "<p>The May 2026 BPNT social assistance of Rp 600,000 has begun to be\ndisbursed to family beneficiaries (KPM) in various regions. This\nassistance is provided for the April, May, and June 2026 period all at\nonce. Each KPM receives assistance amounting to Rp 600,000, channelled\nthrough the Family Welfare Card (KKS) or post offices according to the\nrecipient\u2019s domicile. The Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) programme, or\nstaple goods social assistance, is distributed through Himbara banks\nsuch as BRI, BNI, Mandiri, and BTN. Interestingly, for this second\nquarter disbursement in 2026, the government has also designated\nhundreds of thousands of new social assistance recipients. They have\nbeen included in the recipient list for the Hope Family Programme (PKH)\nand BPNT\/Staple Goods after a process of proposals from villages,\nsub-districts, social services, to the Cek Bansos application. This\ninformation was conveyed by the Centre for Data and Social Welfare\nInformation (Pusdatin Kesos) of the Ministry of Social Affairs\n(Kemensos) through its official Instagram account. The inclusion of new\nsocial assistance recipients simultaneously replaces previous KPM deemed\nno longer eligible. The government ensures that the total number of\nsocial assistance recipients remains the same. However, the recipient\nlist may change in each disbursement period after the verification and\ndata update process.<\/p>",
