Jakarta (ANTARA) - Maxim Indonesia has stated it is still reviewing
the implementation of a policy to cut the income share taken by
ride-hailing platforms from online motorcycle taxi drivers to a maximum
of eight percent, as stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 27 of
2026.

Maxim Indonesia Development Director Dirhamsyah said the company is
currently conducting internal discussions and further research regarding
the implementation of the policy.

“Regarding the eight percent, in line with President Prabowo’s recent
directive, we are still in the discussion stage internally,” Dirhamsyah
said when met in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He said Maxim is not outright rejecting the policy, which has already
been responded to by several other platform operators. However, the
company is still considering its impact on the business ecosystem.

He explained that lowering the commission rate will directly affect
the company’s revenue, necessitating a number of studies before the
policy can be applied.

“Because when the commission, which was previously above that, is now
asked to be lowered, it will definitely reduce our revenue,” he
said.

Dirhamsyah noted that Maxim’s average commission rate currently
stands at around 12 percent. The rates applied to driver partners vary,
starting from eight percent up to a maximum of 15 percent, covering
services such as motorcycle taxis, cars, deliveries, massage, and cargo,
and apply across all regions in Indonesia.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Regulation
Number 27 of 2026, which cuts the income share taken by platform
operators from online motorcycle taxi drivers to a maximum of eight
percent.

On Wednesday, Grab Indonesia, another ride-hailing service provider
in the country, announced through an official statement that the eight
percent revenue-sharing scheme for two-wheeled online motorcycle taxi
partners will take effect starting 1 July 2026.
",
