Mataram Mayor Mohan Roliskana has instructed civil servants under the Mataram City Government not to receive parcels ahead of Eid 2026, deeming such gifts as gratification and potential conflict of interest. The directive aligns with anti-corruption circulars from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and aims to prevent corruption offences, though the mayor acknowledges that gifts from the public during Eid season are often well-intentioned and not always subject to such restrictions.

Mataram Mayor Mohan Roliskana has reminded civil servants (ASN) under
the Mataram City Government not to accept parcels ahead of Eid 2026. The
ban on receiving parcels is based on the assessment that such gifts
constitute gratification.

The prohibition also aligns with Circular Letters (SE) from the
Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Number 2 of 2026 and Number 7 of
2025 regarding the ban on receiving parcels. This restriction aims to
prevent conflicts of interest and corruption offences.

“Yes, we comply with the appeal. We have also communicated this to
the Mataram City Government civil servants. But I believe our officials
already understand this regulation,” said Mohan when confirmed on
Thursday (12 March 2026).

Mohan noted that parcel gifts sometimes come from non-civil servants.
Parcel gifts are often viewed as a gesture of maintaining family ties
and sharing in the Eid season.

“Sometimes people outside the government, members of the public, give
parcels as a form of sharing during the Eid atmosphere. Sometimes they
are also unaware of regulations like this. However, when they arrive, we
cannot very well refuse them,” said Mohan.

“What is important is that we have communicated this, particularly to
officials so they need not send or receive parcels,” he added.

In addition to the ban on accepting parcels, civil servants under the
Mataram City Government are also prohibited from using official vehicles
for travelling home outside the city. This is because official
facilities should only be used for purposes related to official
duties.
",
