        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Mata Garuda, the alumni association and recipient\nof education scholarships from the Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan\n(LPDP), says LPDP provides optimal support to complete academic studies,\nboth financially and non-financially.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLPDP really supports us to finish our studies well, with a wide\nrange of support provided,\u201d said Handika Surbakti, Chair of the Pillar\nCapacity Building, Mata Garuda LPDP, at a media briefing at the Ministry\nof Finance office in Jakarta, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said that in addition to capacity building, networking is also a\nmajor added value in the experience as an awardee.<\/p>\n<p>He admitted actively building networks not only within the campus\nenvironment, but also through Mata Garuda since he was a student.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, LPDP also assigns scholarship recipients to provide\nbenefits wider than personal benefits, especially related to social and\neconomic benefits.<\/p>\n<p>That underpins his involvement in mentoring as well as Mata Garuda\nactivities.<\/p>\n<p>At the same occasion, Yustina, LPDP batch 2 recipient in 2025, said\nshe chose LPDP because it is the scholarship that provides the strongest\nsupport for doctoral study (PhD) compared with other scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>She received a PhD overseas scholarship under the civil servant (PNS)\ncategory to pursue a PhD in cancer science and pharmacology at King\u2019s\nCollege London, United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompared with all other scholarships, the financial support is the\nlargest from LPDP,\u201d said Yustina.<\/p>\n<p>As at 2026, the LPDP scholarship programme has supported 58,444\ndegree scholarship recipients, as well as 583,171 participants in\ncollaboration programmes with the Ministry of Education, Culture,\nResearch and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) and the Ministry of Education,\nPrimary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), and 42,160 scholarship\nrecipients in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>From 2021 to 2026, the scholarship programme has been directed more\nmeasurably towards strategic fields, including STEM (Science,\nTechnology, Engineering and Mathematics), the food and maritime\nindustries, energy, health, defence, digitalisation (including\nartificial intelligence and semiconductors) as well as downstreaming,\nmanufacturing, advanced materials, entrepreneurship, and the creative\nindustries.<\/p>\n<p>LPDP notes that there are currently around 38,000 scholarship\nrecipients pursuing their studies.<\/p>",
