Massive development projects planned for coastal areas<\/p>\n
While PT Trans Indo Duta Utama is conducting feasibility
\nstudies for the construction of a container terminal in Cikupa, a
\nsea port in Tanjung Pasir and a 50-kilometer toll road that will
\nlink the port with Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the
\nTangerang administration is also processing the permits for four
\ninvestors to develop the regency's northern coastal area.<\/p>\n
They are Koperasi Pariwisata Pasir Putih (KPPP), PT Parung
\nHarapan, PT Kosambi Harapan Utama and Koperasi Pariwisata
\nTanjung Pasir (KPTP).<\/p>\n
KPPP plans to develop 100 hectares of beach area in Dadap
\nvillage of the Kosambi district. KPPP has reclaimed a part of
\nDadap beach that had been seriously damaged by erosion.<\/p>\n
With a total investment of Rp 1 trillion (about US$110
\nmillion), KPPP will build recreation parks that will be equipped
\nwith cottages, a hotel, golf course and water recreation
\nfacilities such as speed boats. The construction is scheduled to
\nbe completed in five years.<\/p>\n
According to the head of the regency's tourism agency Deddy
\nSupriadi, while KPPP has started its construction project, PT
\nParung Harapan, PT Kosambi Harapan Utama and KPTP were still
\npreparing to commence construction.<\/p>\n
PT Parung Harapan and PT Kosambi Harapan Utama plan to develop
\nsections of the coastal area for housing estates and shopping
\nmalls, recreation sites and hotels.<\/p>\n
PT Parung Harapan will develop 75 hectares of land in East
\nKosambi district while PT Kosambi Harapan has been allocated
\nabout 150 hectares of land in Teluk Naga.<\/p>\n
KPTP has also been licensed to carry out four development
\nprojects in Teluk Naga. The first project will include the
\nconstruction of a sea port that will be specially used for wood
\nshipment and a shipyard that will be built near Cisadane River in
\nTanjung Burung.<\/p>\n
The second project will involve the construction of a sea port
\nnear Dadap beach that will be used to load and unload goods for
\nthe warehousing located near Soekarno-Hatta International
\nAirport. The third project will be the construction of a tourist
\nresort in Muara Kalong of the Teluk Naga district, that will
\ninclude restaurants, shopping malls, and a quay to serve
\ninterisland boat trips. The fourth project will cover the
\ndevelopment of a water transportation facility which will link
\nCisadane River and Teluk Naga.<\/p>\n
KPTP chairman, Machdiar, said no residents would be evicted
\nto make way for the four projects. \"The projects will instead
\nprovide promising business opportunities for local residents,\" he
\nsaid.<\/p>",
