Mass fumigation for dengue planned<\/p>\n
The Central Jakarta Health Office will carry out a mass
\nfumigation in six districts the mayoralty in November for free to
\nprevent the spread of hemorrhagic dengue fever in line with the
\nincreasing number of victims in the past six months.<\/p>\n
At least 445 people, including five who were reported dead,
\nhave been infected by the disease in Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Most of the victims hail from Kramat, Cempaka Putih Barat,
\nCideng and Joharbaru sub-districts.<\/p>\n
The head of the mayoralty health office, Zulrasdi Djairas,
\nsaid that the mass fumigation will be done in Senen, Joharbaru,
\nCempaka Putih, Sawah Besar, Tanah Abang and Kemayoran.<\/p>\n
Zulrasdi said that November has been chosen for the mass
\nfumigation because it should be done during a suitable period
\nwhere the recorded cases of dengue are at a low point for the
\nyear.<\/p>\n
\"In November the number of aedes aegepty mosquitoes are
\nusually registered at an all time low in a year so it is easier
\nfor us to kill them\".<\/p>\n
The spread of dengue is caused by aedes aegepty, which usually
\nlive in clean water in bathtubs and unused cans disposed of in
