Mashill's profit up<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed Bank Mashill announced a 31-
\npercent increase in net profit in the first three quarters this
\nyear to Rp 23.83 billion (US$6.80 million) from Rp 18.10 billion
\nin the same period last year.<\/p>\n
The bank said in a statement yesterday that the current
\nmonetary crisis did not have a significant impact on the
\nperformance of the bank.<\/p>\n
It said income from interest rose to Rp 77.91 billion as of
\nSeptember 1997, from Rp 56.31 billion in the same period last
\nyear.<\/p>\n
The statement said Bank Mashill, which had total assets of Rp
\n1.81 trillion as of September 1997, had Rp 1.30 trillion in
\nSeptember last year.<\/p>\n
The bank plans to open five more branch offices by the end of
\nthis year in Roxy, Mangga Dua, Kebun Jeruk, Imperium Tower and
\nthe Ambassador building, all in Jakarta, as well as one at Puri
\nAnjasmoro in Semarang, Central Java.<\/p>\n
Bank Mashill's president Tjipto Windoe said the new branches
\nwere expected to raise more public funds in the future.<\/p>\n
As of September 1997, the bank had collected public funds
\nworth Rp 1.28 trillion, up 20 percent from Rp 1.06 trillion in
