        "content": "<p>Marshall Islands stays with Taiwan<\/p>\n<p>MAJURO (AFP): Ending weeks of speculation and uncertainty<br>\nabout relations with Taiwan, newly elected Marshall Islands<br>\nPresident Kessai Note said on Friday the ties will continue.<\/p>\n<p>At the opening of the Nitijela (parliament) session, Note said<br>\ndiplomatic links established 14 months ago by the previous<br>\ngovernment will continue.<\/p>\n<p>\"Many questions have been asked in the past week about whether<br>\nor not our relations will continue,\" Note said. \"The new<br>\ngovernment recognizes the ties with the Republic of China.\"<\/p>\n<p>He said Taiwan had made a substantial contribution toward<br>\ndevelopment of the Marshall Islands, support that was \"greatly<br>\nappreciated\".<\/p>\n<p>Note said, however, that a small task force had been<br>\nestablished by the government to study the relationship to insure<br>\nthat the government was fully aware of all aspects of the ties.<\/p>",
