The top domestic marketing consultant MarkPlus&Co has opened
\nan office in Singapore and plans to open another in Kuala Lumpur
\nto tap business opportunities arising from the stronger trade
\nrelations between Indonesia and the two countries.<\/p>\n
The firm opened its first offshore office in Singapore last
\nmonth and could open its Kuala Lumpur office by January next
\nyear, the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Company president and founder Hermawan Kertajaya said the
\nexpansion was motivated by the stronger trade relations between
\nthe three countries, which are expected to further strengthen in
\nthe future thanks to the implementation of the ASEAN Free Trade
\nArea (AFTA).<\/p>\n
As part of the \"go-international\" drive, Hermawan said the
\nfirm had also signed an agreement to cooperate with the Chartered
\nInstitute of Marketing-United Kingdom (CIM-UK) to provide
\ninternational marketing certificates for local marketers,
\nHermawan said in the release.<\/p>\n
\"We must not only export unskilled laborers, but also world-
\nclass professionals,\" he said, adding that the certificate was
\nrecognized by companies in the UK, Singapore, Malaysia and 40
\nother countries.<\/p>\n
\"We have to show the world that Indonesian professionals can
\ncontribute to global development,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1989, MarkPlus&Co is now a strategic advisor to
\nmany multinational, national and state-owned companies on various
\naspects of business, including marketing, research and training.
\nIn Indonesia, it has offices in Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang,
\nSurabaya and Medan.<\/p>",
