Maritime ministry gets officials<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Maritime Exploration Sarwono
\nKusumaatmadja swore in seven officials to his newly established
\ndepartment on Friday.<\/p>\n
After more than one month without an office or officials, the
\nministry now has five director generals, an inspectorate general
\nand a secretary general. The officials come from various
\nbackgrounds but most have experience in maritime issues.<\/p>\n
Those that were sworn in are Indroyono Susilo as director
\ngeneral of research compatibility and maritime exploration,
\nUntung Wahyono as director general of fisheries and Tommy Purwoko
\nas director general for development of marine potential and
\norganization.<\/p>\n
The vice rector of Bogor Farming Institute, Rokhmin Danuri was
\nsworn as the director general of coasts and small islands while
\nRear Adm. Busran Kadri was sworn in as director general of
\nsupervision and maritime protection.<\/p>\n
The post of secretary general will be held by Sapta Nirwanda
\nand the inspectorate general of the ministry is Mustofa Abubakar,
\na former fisheries officer in Aceh.<\/p>\n
Sarwono said the most immediate concerns would be to establish
\na new office behind the president's office at Bina Graha, Central
\nJakarta, and to send the directorate generals across the country
\nto survey maritime situations and needs.<\/p>\n
\"We will set up the policies and programs after each official
\nhas reported their finds,\" Sarwono said after he swore in his new
\nofficials.<\/p>\n
Sarwono stressed his office's policies will be based on four
\nfactors -- ecology, economy, community and politics. (04)<\/p>",
