        "content": "<p>The Indonesian Marine Corps has awarded honours to soldiers from the\nRI-Papua New Guinea (PNG) Border Security Task Force, Mobile Yonif 10\nMarines, for their achievements during Operation Badai Kasuari in Papua.\nThe awards were presented by Marine Corps Commandant Lieutenant General\n(Mar) Endi Supardi during a ceremony at the 1st Marine Brigade parade\nground, Hartono Marine Complex, Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Friday\n(10\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Marine Corps Information Service, Colonel Marinir Rana\nKaryana, stated that the awards were a form of appreciation for the\nsoldiers\u2019 success in carrying out operations while maintaining security\nin the border region. During their deployment in Papua, the task force\nconducted a series of operations against the armed group TPNPB-OPM.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Marine Corps successfully neutralised several TPNPB-OPM\npersonnel and figures, encouraged a number of armed group members to\nreturn to the fold of the motherland, seized four main headquarters,\ndestroyed 15 sector headquarters, secured 56 thousand-feet houses, and\nconfiscated various pieces of evidence including firearms, ammunition,\ncommunication devices, TPNPB-OPM attributes, and organisational\ndocuments,\u201d Rana said in an official statement received in Jakarta on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n<p>In recognition of these achievements, the Commandant granted\nexceptional promotions, educational opportunities, and overseas\nassignments to the distinguished soldiers. He also presented Award\nCertificate Number 70\/VII\/2026 as official appreciation for the task\nforce\u2019s success in Operation Badai Kasuari. According to Rana, the\nawards represent institutional recognition of the dedication,\ndiscipline, and professionalism of soldiers serving in a high-risk area.\nBorder security operations in Papua demand not only combat capability\nbut also physical and mental readiness to face difficult geographical\nconditions, mountainous terrain, and logistical challenges in remote\nareas.<\/p>",
