        "content": "<p>Marcos Jr. pushes for reinvestigation<\/p>\n<p>MANILA (AFP): The son of late Philippine strongman Ferdinand<br>\nMarcos yesterday pushed for a reopening of the investigation into<br>\nthe 1983 murder of popular opposition leader Benigno Aquino,<br>\nwhich signaled the fall of the Marcos dictatorship.<\/p>\n<p>The victim&apos;s widow, Corazon Aquino, has always held the elder<br>\nMarcos as the mastermind, but he was never charged in court. He<br>\ndied in exile in Hawaii in 1989, three years after he was toppled<br>\nin a popular revolt which swept the widow Aquino to power.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We will never put this issue to rest until we can find out<br>\nonce and for all who the perpetrators are of this terrible<br>\ncrime,&quot; said Ferdinand Marcos, 36, at a news conference.<\/p>\n<p>The young Marcos is running for senator in the coming May<br>\nelections.
