Manulife Indonesia, which has been declared bankrupt by <br>\nthe Jakarta Commercial Court, should serve as a very important <br>\nlesson.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian government has thus protested against the <br>\ncontroversial verdict.<\/p>\n<p>The French ambassador to Indonesia, at a media conference in <br>\nBandung, West Java, urged the Indonesian government to take a <br>\nfirm attitude toward law enforcement in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Industry shares the French <br>\nambassador's and Canadian government's view as well.<\/p>\n<p>The presiding judge of the court that dealt with the case said <br>\nhe did not agree with his two colleagues who handed down the <br>\nverdict.<\/p>\n<p>It is thus high time for the government to launch a campaign <br>\nagainst corruption, collusion and nepotism, starting from our own <br>\nback yard, right up to the government itself.<\/p>\n<p>-- Kompas, Jakarta<\/p>",
