GSPMII was one of the labour\norganisations participating in the May Day action in the area, bringing\neight demands. Their demands ranged from abolishing income tax, enacting\nthe Labour Law, to stopping layoffs. Their presence reinforces the\nposition of trade unions in advocating for workers\u2019 rights amid the\ndynamics of the working world. \u201cEnact the Labour Law,\u201d said one of the\norators during the 2026 May Day protest commemoration. Observations at\nthe location showed hundreds of workers from GSPMII conducting a long\nmarch from Jalan Thamrin, carrying banners and posters of their demands.\nAccording to their view, the current regulations are deemed not fully\nsupportive of workers\u2019 interests.
