        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has said that the downstreaming\nsector and environment- and climate-based jobs (green jobs) have\nsignificant potential to create formal employment in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to the study by the Agency for Manpower Planning and\nDevelopment (Barenbang) as set out in the 2026 Employment Outlook, the\npriority sectors are industrial downstreaming such as minerals,\nplantations and fisheries,\u201d said Head of Barenbang Kemnaker Anwar Sanusi\nwhen contacted in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, other sectors are the digital economy, the green\neconomy, and modern services,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Anwar went on to say that other sectors such as agro-industry and\ntourism are also expected to be able to create many formal job\nopportunities in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Head of the Public Relations Bureau of Kemnaker Faried\nAbdurrahman Nur Yuliono said the government is still working to expand\nthe job creation base for formal employment through priority\nsectors.<\/p>\n<p>This, he continued, is as stated in the Strategic Plan of the\nMinistry of Manpower and the National Manpower Plan (RTKN).<\/p>\n<p>Faried said that the creation of formal jobs with high economic\nvalue, such as industrial downstreaming, is focused on the processing of\nminerals such as nickel, copper, bauxite and coal, plantations, oil and\ngas, and fisheries.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the digital economy and information technology, as well\nas the processing\/manufacturing industry, trade and health services, and\ntourism also have great potential to open up formal employment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese sectors are identified in the projected manpower needs for\n2025\u20132029 as the largest contributors to the absorption of higher\neducation and vocational graduates,\u201d said Faried.<\/p>",
