Manila to host next Asia Pacific Assembly<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The South East Asia Forum officially accepted
\nthe Philippines as a new member under an agreement signed here on
\nSaturday.<\/p>\n
The Philippines was also appointed by the 17th Asia Pacific
\nAssembly here Saturday as the host for next year's assembly.<\/p>\n
\"The next assembly is planned to be officially opened in
\nManila by President Fidel Ramos,\" the Indonesian Forex
\nAssociation's chairman, Jeffrey Turanga, told reporters after the
\nsigning of an agreement on the Philippine membership of the
\nforum.<\/p>\n
The signing was witnessed by a director of Bank Indonesia,
\nPaul Sutopo.<\/p>\n
The South East Forum consists of Indonesia, Singapore,
\nMalaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.<\/p>\n
Jeffrey said the Manila assembly will discuss various topics,
\nincluding codes of conduct, trader skills and professionalism.<\/p>\n
According to Jeffrey, the assembly is a forum for traders in
\nthe Asia Pacific to meet and exchange information and experience
\nin the forex business.<\/p>\n
He added that the assembly was expected to improve the quality
