Manager questioned for kicking employee<\/p>\n
TANGERANG, West Java (JP): A Korean expatriate who allegedly
\nkicked a female employee for rejecting an order was questioned by
\npolice in Jatiuwung district yesterday.<\/p>\n
The questioning followed a protest against the expatriate, a
\nproduction manager at a shoe factory, by dozens of young men from
\na youth organization.<\/p>\n
Identified as Lee, the manager of PT Yoko Indomaju Jaya was
\nreported to have kicked the backside of an employee, Meli, when
\nshe refused to clean the plant area as punishment for her
\nabsence.<\/p>\n
Meli and colleague Asri were summoned Tuesday by Lee, who
\nquestioned their absence on Monday. Meli refused to accept Lee's
\npunishment, insisting that she had already sent a notice to the
\npersonnel division.<\/p>\n
"But suddenly, Mr. Lee kicked my backside," the worker said.<\/p>\n
The workers, who are also members of the Young Generation of
\nKosgoro, a mass organization affiliated with the Golkar
\nfunctional group, reported the incident to their local
\norganization chairman.<\/p>\n
Dozens of Young Generation members then marched to the factory
\non Jl. Raya Pasar Kemis to question Lee.<\/p>\n
Police officers immediately rushed to the scene and took Lee
\nout a back door to the Jatiuwung police station. (28\/anr)<\/p>",
