Man stabbed to death in robbery<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A 28-year-old man, Ronny Andarwanta, died on the
\nway to hospital from a stab wound he received in a robbery last
\nWednesday night on Jl. Benyamin Sueb in North Jakarta, the
\nvictim's wife said on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Pudjiati, 25, told reporters at Cipto Mangunkusumo General
\nHospital's morgue that she was informed by the Pademangan Police
\nthat her husband was found in a critical condition by residents
\nof Jl. Benyamin Sueb at 11 p.m.<\/p>\n
\"Ronny worked as an ojek (motorcycle taxi) driver to support
\nour family. Usually at that hour, he was on his way home,\" said
\nPudjiati, a resident of Jl. Muara Bahari in Ancol, North Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Pudjiati quoted a police report that her husband died on the
\nway to Husada Hospital in Central Jakarta from a stab wound that
\npierced his right chest from behind. He was initially declared as
\nunidentified.<\/p>\n
The police later identified him after finding his motorbike,
\nwhich was abandoned near Mitra Hospital in Kemayoran, Central
\nJakarta, late on Wednesday evening. The police then checked the
\nowner's identity with Jakarta Police Headquarters through the
\nmotorbike's registration number B 3064 JK, which was registered
\nunder the name of Nurdin.<\/p>\n
\"The police found Nurdin's address and later said that the
\nmotorbike had been sold to my husband,\" Pudjiati said.<\/p>\n
The police, she added, assumed that the robber had decided to
\nleave the motorbike in Kemayoran because it had ran out of
\ngasoline.<\/p>\n
\"Police officers even had to stop at a gas station before they
\ncould take it to their office as evidence,\" she said.<\/p>\n
Police seized as evidence Ronny's motorbike and a cake knife,
\nwhich was tainted with blood and found near the victim's body.
