JAKARTA \u2013 A motorcycle taxi driver became the victim of alleged\nhypnotism by a man claiming to be a police officer at a petrol station\nin the Makasar area of East Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on Friday, 27 February 2026 at approximately\n21:30. Information was provided by petrol station security officer Agus\nSunarya (50), who was present at the location when the incident took\nplace. As a result of the incident, the victim\u2019s motorcycle was taken by\nthe suspect.<\/p>\n
According to Agus, the suspect arrived at the petrol station with the\nvictim by riding double on the victim\u2019s motorcycle.<\/p>\n
Agus stated that he attempted to verify the identity of the alleged\nsuspect by contacting his supervisor and the local neighbourhood chief.\nHowever, when he made the telephone call, the suspect and victim\nsuddenly left the location.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter I called the neighbourhood chief, it was only a short time\nbefore the suspect and victim left, they were gone. After that I didn\u2019t\nknow anything more,\u201d said Agus.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that the suspect arrived alone and rode double with the\nvictim. However, regarding the suspect\u2019s claim to be a police officer,\nAgus could not confirm its veracity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t really know if he was a real police officer or not, what\u2019s\nclear is that there was one suspect, riding double with the victim,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n
The following day, Saturday, 28 February 2026, the victim returned to\nthe petrol station to ask the security officer about the whereabouts of\nthe suspect.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe told me that he had been hypnotised and his motorcycle was taken\nby the suspect. So it was taken to the Kramat Jati area,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Based on information received by Agus from the victim, the suspect\ninitially used the victim\u2019s motorcycle taxi service from the area in\nfront of Pinang Ranti Terminal.<\/p>\n
\u201cAccording to the information, the suspect was a customer who boarded\nfrom in front of the asrama haji terminal, and according to the victim\u2019s\naccount, he was asked to take the suspect to Makasar Police Station and\nthe suspect went in briefly, apparently to convince the victim that he\nwas from the police,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen after that they came to this petrol station. The victim said\nthat after his motorcycle was taken, he was dazed for a moment and then\nonly realised that the suspect had taken his motorcycle,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
