Man ordered jailed for rape<\/p>\n
SINGAPORE (AFP): A Singaporean business executive has been
\njailed for eight years and ordered to be caned six strokes by a
\nlocal court for raping his Indonesian maid, news reports said
\nyesterday.<\/p>\n
Lam Mun Choon, 45, a father of three sons and a former prison
\nofficer, was convicted of raping the 25-year-old maid in her
\nbedroom at midnight while his family was asleep in March last
\nyear.<\/p>\n
High Court judicial commissioner Amarjeet Singh rejected Lam's
\ndefense that the maid, who is single, had consented to having
\nsexual intercourse with him.<\/p>\n
On the day before the offence, Lam allegedly went into the
\nmaid's room after watching television alone and tried to force
\nhimself on her even though she struggled and said: \"Don't. No,
\nsir,\" repeatedly.<\/p>\n
He did not succeed in raping her that night. But on the
\nfollowing night, he went to her room and raped her.<\/p>",
